W Hotels Analysis

What are the elements of their digital IQ? (screenshots of all of the digital touchpoints)

How does each brand compare to Four Seasons? (what makes them better?)

The investment is more consecutive for the other brands and it is handled differently. The adoption of mobile and social media is consistent and the other brands have a large presence in different social medias. The digital presence is innovative and marketing efforts are accomplish to satisfy client's desires.
In the particular case of W Hotels, the digital presence creates a great differentiation comparing to Four Seasons, for example with their phone application and the W Music concept.
The mix Dj music player allows the possibility to stream custom music mixed by some of the most talented emerging Djs.

How does each brand address - any screen, any time?

Expanding its services on internet platforms typically used by customers and depending the objective of the brand:

  • sharing (Blogger,Wordpress...)
  • discussing (Youtube, SlideShare, Flickr...)
  • publishing (Skype...)
  • social networks (Facebook, Linkedin...)
  • microblog (Twitter...)
  • ...

What does L2 mean by "more than a booking engine - brands as travel experts"?

Websites give the opportunity to make more than just a booking or discover a brand. Now hotel's websites provide an escape across the world.
More than just a service or product, pictures and packages like "Weddings and Taste" developed by Four Seasons and "Everyone's an Original" from Fairmont create commitment and make destinations incredibly special.
Sites are memorable experiences where destinations are the perfect reflection of the guests' desires.

Find a hospitality or travel Pinterest + explore
The brand Hilton.com is present in the Pinterest social media page.

How does the brand use Pinterest to add value for the customers?
Hilton offers the possibility   to discover the different destinations and the "product and service" of the brand.
They created 19 boards to satisfy the curiosity of the customers. For example "Restaurants and bars", "Cuisine", "Cheers", "Accommodations"...
Some boards have more than 200 pins! The objective is to sell the brand, create proximity and loyalty. The followers build a tribe/clan.
The brand uses this channel for promotional purposes, sharing beautiful pictures. Another way to add value is providing resources and customer care with Pinterest.

Is the Pinterest bookable?
Yes, it is.
